Get a taste of local island life from the shores of New Zealand to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Azamara will take you deeper into these remarkable lands than you ever thought possible. They’ve packed in restful sea days too, because you’ll want them.

From the departure port of Auckland, you'll sail to the Bay of Islands. Both historic and heavenly, this group of 144 islands is a breathtaking start to your voyage. In Tauranga you can meet indigenous Māori, discover steaming geothermal springs, and watch gannets plunge to the sea at beautiful Cape Kidnappers. Sip your way through Chardonnay in Gisborne, Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay, and Pinot Noir in the famous Wairarapa region. You’ve got a late stay next in Wellington. A fun blend of nature and nightlife, the nation’s capital is packed with parks, art galleries, museums, and more.

Spend three relaxing days at sea, then it’s Australia’s turn to impress. A late stay in Sydney gives you time for the dazzling harbour, Opera House and high-energy nightlife. Stroll and sample food and drinks along the beachfront on the Sunshine Coast at Mooloolaba. Discover the azure waters and coral reefs of Hamilton Island and Whitehaven Beach. See less tamed sides of Australia on protected Magnetic Island and the gold-rush town of Charters Towers. From Cairns, opt for a swim-and-snorkel day on the Great Barrier Reef or ride a historic railway through rainforests and waterfalls. A rollicking adventure, beginning to end.

Day 4: Auckland, New Zealand
Explore the eye-catching black sand beaches of "The City of Sails" and take a trip to the top of the Southern Hemisphere's tallest building for sweeping panoramic views. Day 6: Bay of Islands, New Zealand
Exceptional island beauty — 144 times over. This stunning group of islands is home to the first permanent British settlement in New Zealand, as well as rich Māori history. Trek through dense forests of kauri trees, or explore the bioluminescent wonder of the Waiomio Caves system. Take a swing at some world famous golf courses or take a tour and take in impressive waterfalls.

Bay of Islands

Day 7: Tauranga, New Zealand
It’s easy to fall in love with Tauranga. Situated in the sunniest region of the North Island, Tauranga is home to endless golden beaches, beautiful waters, and The Strand — a waterfront lined with restaurants and cafes. Outside of town, you’ll find the Pikirangi Māori Village, where you can relax in rejuvenating thermal pools while watching the Pōhutu geyser shoot nearly 100 feet in the sky.

Day 8: Gisborne, New Zealand
Perched on the East Coast of New Zealand’s North Island, Gisborne is a place of rich history, beautiful beaches, and legendary wines. It’s also a city of firsts. It’s where the first Māori migratory canoes landed, where British explorer Captain James Cook first came in 1769, and, since it’s also the most easterly point in the world, it is the first city in the world to see the sun rise each day.

Day 9: Wellington, New Zealand
Take a ride on the Kelburn cable to and get to know Wellington, the coolest little capital in the world. Situated on New Zealand’s North Island, Wellington is known for its art deco structures, the Botanic Gardens, and its wonderful museums. During your adventure, be sure to tour the Weta Cave, where you’ll find memorabilia from films shot in the area, including Lord of the Rings and Avatar.

Day 10-12: Days at Sea
Relax and reflect on your journey thus far with a few days of fun at sea. Get a behind-the-scenes look at life onboard with an Insider’s View Tour, attend a destination lecture to learn more about your next port-of-call, or try your luck at the onboard casino. Want to really unwind? Watch the world go by and sip a complimentary drink poolside, or say “ahh” with a visit to Sanctum Spa.

Day 13: Sydney, Australia
Sunny skies, friendly faces, and beautiful beaches await in Sydney. When you arrive, visit the UNESCO World Heritage-designated Sydney Opera House for a legendary photo opportunity. Then head to Manly Beach for awesome fun in the sun or the Australian Museum for a tour through New South Wales history. Cap your day with a visit to Darling Harbor for dinner with a stunning view of Harbor Bridge.

Day 14: Day at Sea
Spend the day sailing in style aboard your boutique hotel at sea. Indulge in a treatment at Sanctum Spa, stay ship shape with a class at the fitness centre, or lounge the day away on the sunny pool deck.

Day 15: Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia
Mooloolaba is a former sleepy surf town that was recently featured on the popular reality TV series The Amazing Race. At Mooloolaba Beach, you can take to the water for a cruise on the canals, snorkel in the sea, or dive with sharks. Head inland to swim in one of the secluded waterfalls, and take in the tranquillity that surrounds you.

Day 16: Day at Sea
Onboard an Azamara Ship savour inspired Italian cuisine at Aqualina, or relish in a classic steakhouse experience at Prime C. Plus, you’ll find plenty of exciting evening entertainment, from thrilling shows at Cabaret Lounge to intimate performances in the Living Room.

Day 17: Hamilton Island, Whitsundays, Australia
A place where no cars go — Hamilton Island. Perfectly placed on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef among the 74 Whitsunday Islands, Hamilton Island has immaculate beaches and coral reefs unlike any other. Charter a boat and go island hopping, or swim, snorkel, scuba dive, or kayak your own pace. Enjoy a fine glass of Australian wine, a meal of fresh seafood, and watch the spectacular sunset.

Hamilton Island

Day 18: Townsville, Australia
Warm temperatures, 320 days of sunshine a year, and spectacular sights — what’s not to love about Townsville? Start your visit at the Reef HQ Great Barrier Reef Aquarium — the world’s largest living coral reef aquarium. Then head to the Strand for a relaxing stroll along the beach and dinner in one of the many cafés. Cap your day with a hike up Mount Stuart for an unforgettable view of the region.

Day 19: Cairns, Australia
Any city home to more than one UNESCO World Heritage Site is well worth exploring. Adventure out to the underwater wonder of the Great Barrier Reef, or explore the world's oldest tropical rainforest. Not up for a big excursion? The city's laid-back atmosphere is perfect for a day of relaxation.

Day 20-21: Disembark in Cairns, Australia
Disembark Azamara Quest and a shared transfer will take you to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
