Africa is also home to the largest desert in the world: the Sahara Desert. Grasslands cover much of the land, and rainforests are in western Africa near the equator. The Nile river is in Africa and it is the longest river in the world! Africa is home to thousands of species of animals.
There are over 1000 languages spoken in Africa and some of these have been spoken for hundreds of years, and
some Africans speak the European languages of the explorers and colonists from other countries.
Many of our clients choose a land based holiday in Africa including weddings and honeymoons in Africa and as a special treat, why not fly over Africa in a hot air balloon. The specialist team at Save'n'Sail will handle all your hotel, flight and cruise arrangements prior to your holiday of a lifetime.
You may even wish to take an adventure into the bush and experience an African Safari right in the heart of the wild animals including Lions, Cheetars, Zebra, Elephants and many many more.
North Africa which includes countries such as Tunisia, Libya & Morocco has a varied climate, ranging from Mediterranean Temperatures in the North to the extremes of the Sahara desert. In winter snow can be found on the high ground and the temperature can drop quite quickly at night. Temperatures further South are quite pleasant throughout the winter, but in the Sahara temperatures are more extreme and can be hot during the day and dropping to near freezing at night.
In the Summer months temperatures in the North can reach 40C but the heat tends to be quite bearable. In the Sahara temperatures can reach extremes up to 50C and extreme caution must be taken when venturing out. It is probably best to avoid this area in the summer unless you are used to such heat.
