Day 5: Dubai
Known as the 'Pearl of the Arabian Gulf', Dubai is one of the seven emirates that comprises the United Arab Emirates. With a mix of traditional architecture and glittering modern buildings, Dubai is a place of fascinating contrasts that can best be described as the 'Middle East meets Hong Kong with a little Las Vegas thrown in for style'. It is also the home of sand, sea and sun.
Day 6: Muscat, Oman
The Sultanate of Oman's capital, Muscat, has a magical feel. It is a combination of stunning deserts, mountains and beaches with all the comforts of a bustling, modern metropolis. It's also the meeting point of Asian, African and Arabic civilizations and this unique blend of cultures makes Oman a special place to visit and explore.
Day 7-12: Days at sea
The courts may be smaller than a real tennis court, but the play is just as intense. Rackets and balls are supplied on board, if you fancy a game... On the other hand, if you feel like relaxing, visit the onboard spa to experience true relaxation at sea!
Day 13: Suez Canal Transit
As the ship goes through the Suez Canal, guests can be out on deck throughout the transit, as it is one of the world's most fascinating maritime experiences, creating the bizarre impression that they are sailing right through the dry heart of the desert.
Day 14-15: Days at sea
What will catch your eye today? A designer scent, a new handbag or dress, or perhaps some new jewellery for a formal night? Naturally, if you need to stock up on everyday essentials, there’s a shop on board for that too.
Day 16: Valletta, Malta
The fortifications at Malta's Grand Harbour speak volumes about her past, indeed her reputation for valour during the Second World war earned her the George Cross and there aren't too many islands you can say that of!
Day 17-19: Days at Sea
Why not take a behind the scenes tour? The tour is hosted by a Senior Staff member and gives you the chance to get a different view of life on board. Tours including going down to the Engine Control Room, through the galley and theatre, backstage. You may even be lucky enough to get a glimpse of the Bridge.
Day 20: Lisbon, Portugal
Some of the best views of the Portuguese capital come as your ship cruises along the Tagus River. You pass the Belem Tower and the impressive Monument to the Discoveries with its statue of Henry the Navigator before arriving at the Lisbon cruise terminal.Although small for a European capital, this city does sprawl a little so you would do best to concentrate on three districts - Baixa, Bairro Alto and Alfama, each with its own distinctive style, making Lisbon cruises a must see. Baixa has busy streets of inviting shops, cafés and restaurants while Alfama is the atmospheric old town with narrow cobblestone streets, medieval and Moorish-style buildings, wrought-iron balconies with trailing flowers and a mix of small shops and bars. Bairro Alto is another historic district with narrow streets and is a steep climb from Baixa so look out for the 100-year-old lift (Elevador do Carmo) near Rossio Square. With such a variety of destinations to explore, cruises to Lisbon bring to your holiday a balance of both modern and historical grounds.
Day 21-22: Days at Sea
Arcadia has a luxury spa, high-tech gym and sports facilities. Why not have a go at Yoga, Pilates and dance classes? And when the sun goes down theatre, comedy, cabaret and a casino invite you to let your hair down.
Day 23: Disembark in Southampton
Disembark Arcadia in Southampton and enter back into reality!
