Day 1: Embark MSC Meraviglia in Southampton
Make your way to Southampton Cruise Terminal where you'll find MSC Meraviglia, your home for the next 14 nights.
Day 2: Day at Sea
Your first full day at sea aboard the magnificent MSC Meraviglia means you have chance to get acquainted with the glorious venues onboard.
Day 3: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Las Palmas is part of an archipelago - a group of islands. Enjoy the amazing weather on one of the many beaches, snorkel for the day and explore the sea life while enjoying the sea breeze or discover the Maspalomas Dunes. With sand that was formed at the bottom of the ocean, this 1,000-acre beauty is protected as a nature reserve. Grab your camera and snap away. Hike to the bottom of the vast Bandama Natural Monument, two land forms that include a towering volcanic crater and huge 3,300 ft. wide opening.
Day 4: Day at Sea
Relax in the innovative ocean-view aft lounge, get some retail therapy along the two-deck "inside promenade" with a 480 square metres LED dome, or go bowling at the spectacular amusement area connected to an outdoor water park.
Day 5-6: Reykjavik, Iceland
Reykjavík is mirrored in the waters of its bay, as you can see when your cruise ship sets anchor in the port. The quays along the seafront host a variety of shops, live music clubs and cafés. Take a stroll down Frakkastigur up to Lækjartorg, to admire the Sólfar, also known as the Sun Voyager, a large modern steel sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason, that represents a Viking vessel, with the bow pointing towards the north.
Don’t miss an excursion to the Þingvellir national park, in the south west region of the island, a UNESCO world heritage site since 2004. On the northern shores of the Þingvallavatn, the largest Icelandic lake, the Öxará river forms the Öxaráfoss waterfall in the vicinity of Almannagjá, the largest cleft in this land.
If you like waterfalls, you should not miss a visit to Gullfoss, in the south east of the island: the river Hvítá here drops down 11 and then 21 metres forming the queen of all Icelandic waterfalls and then continues along a narrow gorge in the plateau. In this area we also find the Strokkur, the only geyser that regularly erupts every 4-8 minutes. Then proceed to Geysir, in the Haukadalur valley, the oldest known geyser, from which the term originates.
Day 7-10: Days at Sea
Discover Galleria Meraviglia - This 96 m central promenade is filled with boutiques, restaurants and tranquil spots for shopping, eating and relaxing... as well as socialising. And in the evening, it comes alive with music, parties and entertainment.
Day 11: Sydney, Canada
Nova Scotia: one of the most spectacular wild landscapes on the Canadian Atlantic coast with its vast green areas is a true paradise for nature lovers who can admire moose, eagles, and go whale watching to see the numerous types of cetaceans that live in the surrounding seas, including whales and dolphins.
Located on a fjord of Spanish Bay, Sydney is the largest urban center on the island of Cape Breton, with a past linked to the mining industry. The tourist attractions of the city are mainly related to its cultural heritage from Scotland: its population, in fact, is a diverse mix of nationalities that put on various Canadian cultural events of Scottish or Eastern European origin taking place throughout the year.
Day 12: Halifax, Canada
Canada is a huge country that offers tourists a large number of wonderful attractions to visit and explore. One of those not to be missed is Halifax, the capital city of Nova Scotia found on the east coast of Canada .
Each city has a symbol that represents it more than anything else: for Halifax, its citadel that dates back to the late 18th century, famous in Canada both for its beauty and for its historical importance, fills that role. Inside the star-shaped citadel, you can explore the history of Halifax on guided tours. The museum staff, dressed as soldiers of the army and navy, will show you the clothes used in the past and other items in maritime activities.
To the south-west of the city, discover one of the most beautiful and evocative settings on the Atlantic coast, the small village of Peggy's Cove, famous for its red lighthouse that was built in 1868. In this fishing village, elements of nature and domestic intimacy coexist: it is a land of boulders eroded by glaciers where the presence of humans can be found only in a handful of colorful houses and fishing shacks over the waters of the marina. The village lighthouse stands on top of a granite outcropping, made slippery by the splashes of the ocean waves.
Day 13: Day at Sea
Your last full day at sea gives you opportunity to make your next MSC Cruises booking onboard, where you'll get the very best deal available, and your booking will still be looked after by ourselves at The Cruise Village.
Day 14: New York, USA
Hidden gardens next to postmodern skyscrapers; priceless art tucked away in medieval-style cloisters; a revamped waterfront you can stroll along to take in the view.
Wandering through the patchwork of neighbourhoods is as great a thrill as any single sight. Frantic Chinatown edges stylish Soho , which is but a stone’s throw from the quiet, angled lanes of the once-bohemian West Village . A perfect espresso in a shabby-chic Williamsburg café, a rooftop view from Chelsea’s High Line or a ride on the “A” to Far Rockaway is worth much more than an “I Love New York” handbag. Cheaper, too, and the memory will last longer.
Day 15: Disembark for your hotel stay
Following your overnight stay in New York onboard MSC Meraviglia, bid her goodbye and head to your 4* hotel for a 3-night stay.
Day 16-17: New York, USA - at leisure
The City That Never Sleeps and you won't want to either. You'll need to visit the Brooklyn Bridge, Broadway, the Freedom Tower and the Rockerfeller Center whilst you're there! Also not to be missed is Central Park and the billboards, skyscrapers and bustling crowds of Times Square. We have included Top of the Rock tickets too!
Day 18: Embark Queen Mary 2 in New York, USA
Check out of your hotel and make your way to the cruise port to step onboard Cunard's QM2!
Day 19-24: Days at Sea
Step into a world of effortless indulgence and inspiration aboard the world's only true ocean liner, Queen Mary 2, for the iconic Transatlantic Crossing. Run a mile around deck before dusk or dance until just before dawn. The choice, as always with Cunard, is yours. There is as much or as little to do as you please, with more possibilities than you have time to discover. Savour some of the most exquisite, timeless restaurants at sea, from the Steakhouse at the Verandah inspired by both sides of the Atlantic and the enticing world cuisine of King's Court, to 24-hour dining in your stateroom.
