Since the realisation several months ago that Paula and I were being given an opportunity to discover Explora Journeys, there’s been an air of excitement in the Nuttall residence.
A cruise product, that sits in its own space within the luxury cruise market was something that really intrigued us.
As soon as we boarded Explora I, we took the opportunity to jump straight in and check out some of the suites on board.
Ocean Terrace
Our first stop on our suite tour was the entry level OT (Ocean Terrace) and we can tell you there’s nothing “entry level” about them.
At 377 Sq ft they are larger than some mini suites on larger cruise ships.
They do have one really cool feature… there is motion-triggered mood lighting set in the storage space either side of the bed to light your way. No need to fumble for a light switch and light up your suite like Blackpool Illuminations at 3am!
Owners Residence
Enter “dream mode” as we had a sneak around the Owners Residence…Wow!
If you are a lottery winner, a recipient of significant inheritance or just a hard working citizen who’s earned the money to be pampered on holiday… then this is where you will choose to part with your money – and the Cruise Village team will make sure you have the best of everything during your stay in an Explora Journeys Owners Residence.
The Cove
But our favourite in suite indulgence was the Cove. A charming addition to the entry level Residence accommodation.
All the luxuries were present, with the addition of a jacuzzi on your well sized balcony. The layout really works and there’s a really smart use of space.
The Serenity Suite
A real home-from-home feel awaits you in the final suite on our tour of Explora I accommodation.
The Serenity Residence is just quite superb. It wasn’t just the space we loved, it was the position of the king size bed facing the ocean and also the dining area was akin to that of a large yacht, just a real maritime feel about it.
Emporium Marketplace
After a whistle stop tour of the accommodation we took lunch in the Emporium Marketplace. In the words of Explora Journeys – “Effortless all-day dining, inspired by cuisines and flavours from across the globe”.
Couldn’t resist the Octopus Carpaccio, and it didn’t disappoint.
Premium Penthouse
At 2.00pm access is granted to all suites and we made our way in anticipation to our Premium Penthouse.
